History of our program:  Confirmation at St. Francis has been happening since the beginning of time (or so it seems).  I myself was confirmed at the old church when Father Paul Ruzzo was the director of the program.  We were broken up into small groups and all groups met on the same night with their designated teacher.  There were perhaps 10 or 12 kids in each group.  We studied the book of Luke the first year, and the Acts of the Apostles the second year.  There was a service project and an overnight retreat at the Emmaus House.

Currently we are running a program we've named "Friends and Family."  We call it this because students attend the class with an adult - either family or friend.  The reasons we like this program are many - not limited to the fact that most Confirmation-age students feel like they are being made to complete this sacrament.  In our format students have a chance to find out from parents why they feel so strongly about their faith.  Through the guest speakers, discussions, and projects we try to open the lines of communication between students and their partners - to allow for a true rich exploration of our Catholic faith.

Each session is based on a theme and functions as a complete unit.  Please try not to miss any classes - and especially do not expect to attend only part of it and make up the rest later.  If needed a make-up class can be scheduled - but four nights is not a large commitment.  We know that out of your dedication to receiving this sacrament you will do your best to make the four sessions each year.
